Tweel is the original Scottish word for tweed. The spelling changed in 1826 when a London merchant misread the word for the nearby River Tweed. The change caught on and today, we talk of tweed patterns worldwide.
The Tweel Brim Hat is knit in our fingering weight cashmere yarn and worked in the round from the brim up using a provisional cast on to enable the folded brim. The body of the hat is worked in stockinette stitch. The brim is a slip stitch pattern, which is both written and charted.
The pattern offers 3 hat sizes:
Finished hat sizes A, B, C: 19.25” (20”, 22”)/49 (51, 56) cm circumference for head measurements up to 21” (22”, 25”)/53 (56, 63.5) cm
Finished length: A, B, C: 8” (8.5”, 8.5”)/20 (21.5, 21.5) cm
