Shed some light cowl kit

$ 88.00 USD

The 'shed some light cowl', designed by Amy Swanson, is an ode to weaving and old Weavers’ Cottages in England with many windows so that weavers could see to do their work. The main stitch pattern creates mini squares to represent windows that 'shed light'. The cowl's name is also a pun. The word 'shed' in weaving is the space created for a weaver to place horizontal threads across vertical ones.

The cowl is knit in the round in a herringbone stitch pattern at each hem. A 2-color slip stitch pattern forms mini squares (windows!) for the main cowl fabric. Two skeins (2 separate colors) of our fingering weight cashmere yarn yield 2 cowls with the finished measurements. Guidance is provided in the pattern for making a larger cowl if desired.
